Adoption Process
A clear look at how families join the waiting list, reserve a puppy, visit the litter, and prepare for pickup.
Complete the puppy application
The first step is to fill out the application so that we can get to know each other. Do not take it too seriously—have fun with it, and invite the whole family to participate.
After the application is reviewed, you are placed on the waiting list. When your name is reached, you will receive a call with information about the current litter.
Puppies are offered first come, first served, and puppy picks follow the order in which deposits are received. Deposits are never accepted before a litter is born and a puppy is available for you.
Reserve your puppy
A refundable deposit of $500 is required to hold your puppy.
Deposit policy: Deposits are fully refundable until puppies reach six weeks of age. If you cancel after six weeks, $350 is refunded. After seven weeks, the deposit is nonrefundable.
Join the puppy-family group
Once the deposit is made, you receive access to a private, buyer-only Facebook group with regular updates about your new family member. It is also a judgment-free place to meet other buyers and ask questions. Live-camera sessions are announced in the group.
Attend the puppy party
At six weeks, families schedule a “puppy party” to visit—or use FaceTime—and choose the puppy who will join their family. Visits are held one family at a time in waiting-list order.
- Please stay home if you are sick or have recently been sick.
- The dam is kept separate during visits to reduce stress.
- Children should keep voices low around the puppies and mother.
- Sessions are limited to 30 minutes so every family receives enough time.
Schedule go-home day
About a week after the puppy party, you will receive the call to schedule pickup. Final payment is due at this time, and all balances must be paid before the puppy goes home.
Puppies go home with:
