How much is a puppy?
Puppies are $2,750. A $500 deposit is required to hold your puppy and is deducted from the final balance. The remaining balance is due at pickup.
When can I take my puppy home?
Puppies may go home at eight weeks of age—never before. This time with their mother and littermates is important for proper care and socialization.
Can I remain on the waiting list if the timing is not right?
Absolutely. When your name comes up, you may move to the next litter if the timing is not right. This can be done twice.
Do Goldens shed a lot, and can I shave them?
Goldens shed a lot and should never be shaved. Their double coat protects their skin and helps regulate exposure to the elements. If heavy shedding is a major concern, this may not be the right breed for you.
Can I breed a dog that I get from Sterling Run?
No. Puppies are placed with limited AKC registration, which means a litter produced from them cannot be registered.
Does my puppy come with papers?
Yes. Puppies go home with AKC registration and microchip information. Registering the puppy is optional, but the microchip should always be updated with your contact information.
How do I apply for a puppy?
Complete the puppy application when your family is ready. After approval, you will be placed on the waiting list.
Can I pay for a higher spot on the waiting list?
No. To keep the process fair, puppy placement is first come, first served.
Will my puppy receive vaccinations?
Yes. Puppies receive their first rounds of vaccinations and deworming and are examined by a veterinarian. Medical records are included in the take-home kit.
